Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain, in the Himalayas. Lies on the north then part of Nepal. IT MAKES BORDER- Line with china. Its height is 8,848 m or 29,039 feet. It has been also given a Nepalese name.It is "Sagarmatha" which means head of the earth . Because its extreme height, it has been rightly called "head of the earth".It is pride of every Nepali. By this name we are known in the world.

In fact, Nepal is less known in the world for its own name.First, being a small country. and secondly, having no any remarkable development, Nepal often escapes from the notice of foreigners. In foreign countries, they still ask-where is Nepal? We introduce ourselves as the citizens of lies. Truly, the highest mountain of the world has become our proper identity. It was first climbed by Edmund Hillary, and Tensing Norgay in 1953. Many expeditions have been made since then. The foot of mountain is near the town of Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is in solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of Nepal. Everest expeditions establish their base (starting point) here, many mountaineers from different parts of world have made successful expeditions. They have reached the summit of the highest mountain of the world. Sagarmatha still stands supreme and majestic.
It was sir George Everest who discovered the highest peak of the world. He was survey your- general in India. During the survey in the north of India, they noticed this peak. They measured it with,"trigonometry"and discovered that it was the highest known mountain. Name of the mountain is there fore in hour of George Everest.

More accurate measurement made later has shown that it is 8,848m high. In k2(second highest mountain in the Karakorum range, Kashmir, India,8611m128,261ft). This disputed Everest's "highest mountain"status but recent satellite measurements have established mountain Everest as the highest.

The Ghandruk villageThe Ghandruk village is located at the eastern part of country. It is a hill area.I like my village very much. it is rich of nature. The people in the village are simple. They are very helpful and do not cheat deceive others. In my village the villagers get fresh air, pure water and good environment. Its population is about 5000. About 60% people of the village are educated. Those who live in their houses work in the fields. most of them are farmers. They grow different kinds of crops. The main crops of village are rice, maize, wheat, millet, grains, corn and fruits. Those who grow grow more crops sell in the market and earn some money. With that money they buy other necessary goods like clothes, salt, soaps etc. They also keep animals like cows, oxen, goats, sheep etc.
The climate of my village is very nice. It is temperate. It is neither too cold nor too hot. The village is surrounded by the forest. It rains a lot in the rainy season. The sun is warm in winter
The main religion of the people is Hinduism. There are not the other religious people in my village. There are not Buddhists, Christians, Islams etc. But now a days Rai and Limbu say that they are not Hindu. They have got their own separate religion. The other specialties of my village are its rivers, forest, geographical structure and the manner of people. The people are laborious. The life is not costly. The villagers live in a small income.
